OctaneToday’s exercisers want a variety of equipment to choose from to stay motivated, continue cross training and see results. With their diverse populations, campus recreation centers should take advantage of new cardiovascular machines to meet multiple needs.

Octane Fitness continues to innovate the zero-impact cardio category with new products:

XT4700 and XT3700 ellipticals

The new XT4700 and XT3700 premium ellipticals feature a smoother, longer motion of up to 28” (XT4700) and 24” (XT3700); a sleek design with contemporary shrouds and colors; pedal bumpers; a quiet motor (XT4700 only), and a more stable, durable frame. Exercisers benefit from multiple innovative programs, 30 resistance levels, heart rate monitoring, interval training using exclusive Workout Boosters and CROSS CiRCUIT® combined cardio and strength routines.

LateralX®

Unlike anything on the cardio floor, the popular LateralX features smooth, 3D movement that goes from a vertical elliptical stepping motion to an active, side-to-side motion, for functional movement in 10 planes of motion that delivers greater challenges and muscle confusion for better results. With a 30 percent increase in outer thigh and inner thigh engagement over traditional ellipticals, the LateralX also fosters a 27 percent increase in caloric expenditure when going from lateral width 1 to lateral width 10. Patented Converging Path and MultiGrip handlebars better engage the upper body for more effectiveness. The new LateralX boasts a quiet motor and a contemporary shroud design and color.

xR6000 xRide® recumbent elliptical

Seated workouts are exceptionally effective on the xR6000 xRide recumbent elliptical, which outperforms all seated equipment on the cardio floor. Superior to recumbent bikes, the xRide features exclusive PowerStroke™ technology that results in 23 percent more caloric expenditure and three times the glute activation. Plus, exercisers benefit from total-body workouts, including Chest Press, Leg Press and X-Mode interval training regimens.

New console options for all models

The XT4700, XT3700, LateralX and xR6000 now feature two new console options for even greater entertainment and interactivity. The smart console includes a 10” glass capacitive LCD, internet access, web apps, streaming video and music and interactive coaching. The standard console incorporates an easy-to-navigate touch-capacitive screen; and both the standard and smart consoles have upgradable firmware, asset management, Bluetooth®/ANT+ compatibility and mobile device charging. For multiple television, movie and entertainment selections, the 15” HD personal viewing screen with integrated controls can be added to either console.
