Austen Smith, the associate director of Campus Fitness at High Point University, shares on their partnership with Advantage Sport & Fitness.

How long have you been a customer of Advantage Sport & Fitness?

AS: Over 15 years.

Why did you decide to partner with Advantage Sport & Fitness?

AS: Advantage has been a great partner to High Point University for many years, and we’ve grown to trust them to meet, and often exceed, the expectations we have for providing fitness equipment for our students. We were drawn to them for this specific space because we were able to customize the equipment that was going into the facility. Their consultation process from design to install was especially impressive. We were looking to solve our need for additional strength training equipment on campus and build a new of a state-of-the-art cycling facility. Working with Advantage allowed us to maximize every inch of the space we had available.

What are the benefits to your campus rec department as a result of this partnership?

AS: Besides High Point University having a beautiful new facility for our students, thanks to the design team at Advantage we also have a very functional facility. We know we can call Advantage with any concerns we have and we’ll get a helpful and timely response.

What are the benefits to your users as a result of this partnership?

AS: Our students, trainers and instructors have the opportunity to train, teach and exercise in an amazing environment with industry leading equipment. We have added more than 20 classes to our group fitness schedule and our students are enabled to be more creative in programming and designing workouts.

Have you been pleasantly surprised by working with Advantage Sport & Fitness in any way?

AS: I’m always pleasantly surprised by the customer support and care given by Advantage Sport & Fitness. During this process, the university was constructing a brand-new student center. No matter how many times plans changed, timelines were adjusted or repetitive questions were asked, the Advantage team never showed us any frustration or impatience. They adapted every single time and the outcome was better than we could have ever imagined.

What else can you tell other campus rec professionals about the benefits of working with Advantage Sport & Fitness?

AS: If you’re looking to work with a company who values customer experience and service, Advantage Sport & Fitness is where you should start your journey.
