Thor Guard: Providing you with more safe, outdoor time.

Lightning can easily strike from a storm 15 miles away from you. Utilizing any detection system requires a lightning strike to hit the ground before any warning can be issued. If the first strike occurs at your facility, you will be notified after you are knocked over. Most detection also can’t see local charges, which can lead you to continue again after you believe a storm has passed, but it really hasn’t. 30 minutes wait time may not be enough.

A campus is no different than any outdoor venue. Participants and attendees are affected by rain, wind, heat, cold and lightning. Arguable, lightning is the most dangerous and sometime the beginning of more deadly weather conditions. Thor Guard is a unique tool that has been designed to provide advance warning of one or more lightning strikes on your campus.

Over the years, the Thor Guard L75 lightning prediction console has been the workhorse of the Thor Guard legacy. The L75 series of prediction systems have been upgraded to take full advantage of the new maintenance-free DASA sensor and its superb electrical properties. Predicting lightning has always been the greatest advantage our technology has enjoyed over detection systems which require a strike to occur before a warning can be provided. Equally important is the system’s capabilities to provide accurate, data-based all clear notifications resulting in faster resumption of activities. The upgraded L75 in conjunction with the DASA sensor further improves on Thor Guard’s industry leading efficiency.

Thor Guard’s 43 years in business along with thousands of satisfied customers provides the experience required to study and refine lightning science anywhere in the world. Our goal is to provide you with more safe, outdoor time.
