MISSION
Campus Recreation at the University of Illinois provides a welcoming environment with sustainable facilities and programs that inspire the university community to engage in recreation and wellness opportunities.
FACILITIES
The 340,000 square foot Activities and Recreation Center (ARC) features at 35-foot climbing wall, indoor track, two 50-meter swimming pools, twelve racquetball courts, four gymnasiums, nine multi-purpose areas, instructional kitchen, 150-seat auditorium, Courtside Café and much more.
The 110,000 square foot Campus Recreation Center East (CRCE) is located in the heart of campus and features an aquatic center including a leisure pool, water slide and volcano fountain, an indoor track, three racquetball courts, 3-court gymnasium and two multi-purpose rooms.
The campus also features an Ice Area, where both students and the outside community can come to skate, take lessons, play hockey and much more.
FUN FACTS
- Campus Recreation provide many opportunities to students such as bubble soccer, outdoor spin classes and log rolling.
- Many career fairs are hosted at Campus Recreation where hundreds of employers come each year to look for prospective interns and employees from the University of Illinois.
- Campus Recreation hosts an annual world cup indoor soccer tournament. It is a great opportunity for students of all nationalities to come together and compete against one another as well as develop friendships.
- The ARC holds an instructional kitchen. This host cooking classes that help people learn how to eat healthy, cook different dishes, or have a snack. It is very useful for a wide variety of students and pallets on campus.
