GymValet Wins 2015 Environmental Leadership Award

GymValet®, along with Planet Fitness gyms in the Greater Lansing, Michigan area, were recently awarded the 2015 Tri-County Environmental Leadership Award (TCELA) for teaming together to implement an exemplary waste reduction system in the health/fitness club setting.

GymValet, the convenient holder for fitness equipment sanitizing spray bottles and reusable towels that attaches directly to equipment, has been credited with decreasing Planet Fitness’ carbon footprint by the elimination of equipment cleaning using disposable, non-recyclable, paper towels. GymValet based cleaning has also been credited with saving each Planet Fitness gym between $20,000 and $25,000 per year in disposable paper costs, according to Fred Mussehl, Regional Manager for five Planet Fitness facilities in Michigan and Ohio.

“We are honored to have been recognized by the TCELA committee for the environmental and economical stewardship that the GymValet Equipment Cleaning System represents,” noted Bruce Sherman, Ph.D., President of GymValet/B & D Specialty Concepts, Inc. “Mr. Mussehl’s multi- faceted commitment to fitness, for the individual, the clubs he manages and the planet is both exemplary and an honest play on the franchise’s name, Planet Fitness,” Dr. Sherman added.

GymValet/B & D Specialty Concepts, Inc., based in Shaker Heights, Ohio, has been helping to keep fitness facilities clean and green since 2006 with the GymValet and all of the accessories needed for convenient, cost effective and environmentally friendly equipment cleaning—including spray bottles and sprayers, hospital-grade sanitizing solution, spa-quality towels, and dilution containers. One stop shopping for the industry’s best products, at great prices.
