Jorge Juarez, the executive director at Arizona State University, is the moderator for the 2023 Campus Rec Leadership Summit.

As an attendee of the past four Summits, Juarez has seen firsthand how the event and its roundtables run. As always, moderators are chosen based on their ability to lead and command a room, their knowledge of the industry and skill in prompting discussion, and their previous Summit experience.

“Jorge has been a consistent Summit attendee for many years,” said Carrie Yeiser, the senior director of events and marketing at Peake Media. “He has been able to be part of the evolution of this event and watched numerous moderators lead previous events. His energy and excitement for campus rec are contagious and his peers agree. We choose moderators each year based on recommendations and attendee feedback. We heard loud and clear this year Jorge should be the moderator for 2023 and we couldn’t agree more.”

A Closer Look at the 2023 Summit

The 2023 Summit will take place June 20-22 at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa in Bonita Springs, Florida. Set in tropical gardens overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, the resort offers many amenities:

  • Lagoon pool with slides and hot tubs
  • Golf course
  • Private island beach
  • And much more

Sixty campus rec executives alongside limited sponsors will gather for two and a half days of roundtable discussions, demo times, an excursion to a private island, networking dinners and a tour of Florida Gulf Coast University’s recreation and aquatics facilities.

Through it all, Juarez will be leading the discussion on topics curated by past attendee recommendations and industry trends.

“I am honored to be selected as the 2023 Campus Summit moderator,” said Juarez. “Defined by StrengthsQuest and by nature of who I am, I am an ‘Includer’ and ‘WOO’  — Wins Others Over. I cannot wait to use my natural talent to help everyone feel included in this wonderful family of campus rec professionals who give their time and talents for other people’s well-being. I cannot wait to see the new professionals who come into the Summit as participants but leave as friends in the field of campus recreation.”
