MicroFit

MicroFit, Inc. has been producing quality fitness and wellness assessment software and medical grade testing equipment since 1986. Several hundred colleges and universities have benefited by using a wide range of MicroFit products designed to evaluate, educate, track progress, and to motivate students, faculty, and the community at large to adopt healthier lifestyles.

Jennifer Sexton, the director of wellness at Stanford University shares her experience working with MicroFit.

How did you hear about MicroFit and why did you decide to partner with them?

JS: I used a Microfit system at one of my first fitness jobs. It was so easy to use and was something I always remembered. So when it came time for us to purchase a system for our employee wellness program I reached out to MicroFit.

How has the partnership benefited students and the recreation facility/department?

JS: Our system is primarily used for our employee wellness program. All benefits eligible employees have the opportunity to participate in our wellness program and receive a fitness assessment. Having MicroFit as our tool for doing those assessments has been an easy way to do population based testing. Their system is reliable and participants really like the print outs with their personal information and suggestions for making improvements. Since we have participants that come back year after year it’s nice to have the historical data to view as we go through results. It’s an effective way of capturing what’s happened in the past, to celebrate successes and identify areas to work on.

Have you been pleasantly surprised by working with MicroFit in any way?

JS: Their customer service and response rate is amazing. I’ve dealt with many vendors over the years and am always amazed at how quickly I hear back from them, whether it’s to purchase a new system or get help with an existing set-up.

What else can you tell recreation professionals about working with MicroFit?

JS: The MicroFit system is a great tool for implementing a population based program or to have as a tool to use with personal training. The ease of use and the variety of tests to choose from make it a great asset to a recreation program.
