New Premium Zero Runner from Octane Fitness

octaneAfter inventing zero-impact running with the groundbreaking Zero Runner last year, Octane Fitness, LLC has expanded and perfected this unique category with the top-of-the-line Zero Runner ZR8. Meticulously designed to help runners improve speed, endurance and efficiency, the ZR8 offers state-of-the-art design and advanced features that replicate natural running but eliminate the stressful, repetitive impact that can compromise form, cause fatigue, lead to injuries and shorten a running career.

“The Zero Runner category is all about smarter training – working hard and continually achieving even better results, while protecting your body,” said Tim Porth, the EVP of product development and marketing. “With its new aluminum legs, higher resistance levels and performance grips, the ZR8 is a training tool that equips runners to cross train, perfect their form, improve race times and ultimately extend their running career.”

Premier Features Enhance Running

New aircraft-grade aluminum legs feature lightweight pedals and independent hip and knee joints to customize natural running motion, and now facilitate a faster cadence so runners can work on speed. A greater resistance range creates a heavier workload for various challenges, like hill repeats. New performance grips are free-moving to more closely replicate a runner’s arm swing, and contoured handles feature multiple hand positions for an optimal upright posture.

The machine also includes digital contact and wireless heart rate monitoring, ANT+, Bluetooth® 4.0 for mobile device connectivity and a deluxe console that displays key running stats.

Training smarter is enhanced with SmartLink™, the free app that offers live stride tracing technology that enables runners to monitor and adjust form as necessary to maintain endurance and speed. SmartLink also includes training plans such as 5K, 10K, half marathon, and marathon for extra guidance and motivation. Downloaded to an iPad®, iPhone® or iPod touch®, SmartLink wirelessly connects to the Zero Runner and tracks speed, distance, heart rate and more from every run so that runners can analyze training and make changes if necessary.

Plus, with the SmartLink app exclusively for select Garmin smartwatches, all data is tracked to one place for both outdoor runs and indoor sessions on the ZR8, creating a convenient, comprehensive training log. Runners also can complete a portion of their training run outside, and finish it indoors on the ZR8, while the app records all data as one workout.

Valuable strength and flexibility training for runners is simple with the CROSS CiRCUIT®, which combines cardio intervals on the Zero Runner with strength and stretching exercises off the machine to address weak links, correct muscular imbalances, build overall strength, boost flexibility and improve core power. Based on a runner’s specified goals, the ZR8 provides a customized regimen to maximize efficiency and results, and video demonstrations and coaching help ensure proper form and execution.

Next Generation

Built with a stronger frame for exceptional performance, the ZR8 offers cordless, virtually silent operation. Available at authorized specialty fitness retailers, the ZR8 has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $4,299. For more information about this unique product, visit www.zerorunner.com.
