The Colleges of the Fenway partnered with Mission Control to promote the growth of rec league esports on campus and provide a digital community for students. Below, Marc Taney, the director of Intramurals and Recreation, shares his experience partnering with Mission Control and why you should, too:

CR: Why did you decide to partner with Mission Control? What problem were you looking to solve or what solution were you looking to incorporate?

Marc Taney: Here at the Colleges of the Fenway, we were looking to add opportunities for students across our five schools to participate in together, make connections across the colleges and have some fun. We wanted to offer something different from the traditional intramural and recreation offerings. We figured with the growth of esport popularity and Mission Control’s directionality, partnering with them made great sense.

CR: What do your staff and patrons love most about using Mission Control?

MT: Mission Control has made it easy for admin and end users to build leagues, administratively control play, and crown champions. As the primary administrator, I love the accessibility to Byron Abrigg, the co-founder and chief customer officer of Mission Control. Even for the smallest question, Mission Control has been right there to answer.

CR: How has Mission Control benefitted your rec center and esports program?

MT: We’ve grown and the student experience has been enhanced. Without Mission Control, students who don’t otherwise participate in traditional intramurals would not have the ability to participate as a collective group within the Colleges of the Fenway.

CR: How would you describe Mission Control’s customer support?

MT: Phenomenal. Mission Control gets answers to admin and users quickly. Byron and their team have taken support to the next level. They solicit information that may improve their platform, and seemingly within days, that information is put into action.

CR: Why should other rec centers consider working with Mission Control?

MT: For several reasons: ease of use, level of customer service and their vision for the future of intramural gaming. The crew at Mission Control want to make their product the most innovative and clean intramural gaming platform on the market, and it shows.
