Technogym Brings Wellness to Life at EXPO Milan 2015

Technogym’s “Let’s Move for a Better World” Social Campaign to Enable Anyone to Donate and Convert Physical Activity to Meals to Populations Affected by Malnutrition

Technogym has been selected as the “Official Wellness Partner” at the 2015 Milan EXPO beginning May 1, 2015 and concluding on October 31, 2015. The Italian company – a world leader in the Wellness field and official supplier to the latest six editions of the Olympic Games – will create a thematic Wellness route at the Milan World Exposition to promote physical exercise, sport and health. The route will go through 6 Technogym Points – display ‘islands’ set up along the decumanus, the main axis across the EXPO – as well as a Technogym arena, a 1600 square metre ‘main square’ where, throughout the EXPO, regularly scheduled fitness, wellness, sports and health-themed events will take place.

In line with the EXPO’s main topic, “Feeding the Planet – Energy for Life”, Technogym is launching the new Technogym App and kicking off a special version of their global social campaign “Let’s Move for a Better World” to convert movement into meals for children in countries affected by malnutrition.

The “Let’s Move for a Better World”campaign is Technogym’s annual fitness initiative where fitness enthusiasts around the world can compete with each other to work out and collect the most MOVEs (Technogym’s metric of measuring physical activity) through Technogym equipment and the MyWellness app, with the winners in each nation donating Technogym equipment to a local school of their choice to combat childhood obesity.

For the EXPO, Technogym will create a special edition of the “Let’s Move for a Better World” campaign, where anyone around the world can download the new Technogym App and collect MOVEs through physical movement, and then convert these into physical meals.  A total of 1,000 MOVES is needed to purchase one meal, and everyone’s results around the world will be tallied together at the end of the EXPO on October 31, 2015 for the total meal donation to Technogym’s partner in this endeavor, the World Food Programme. Technogym’s ultimate goal is to galvanize people around the world to exercise, walk or run to help feed millions of malnourished children the world over. To download the new Technogym App, please visit the Apple App Store (for Apple devices) or the Google Play Store (for Android devices).

Through this initiative, physical exercise thus acquires social value and promotes health and wellness, not just for those who exercise. Since the company has launched, Technogym has been active in promoting wellness as a social movement for everyone, whether with governments, companies or the general public. The “Let’s Move for a Better World” campaign is a hands-on initiative aimed at systematizing and utilizing technology (through the Technogym MyWellness ecosystem, which integrates equipment, cloud platform, and Technogym apps) to allow all consumers wherever they are to join together and donate their physical activity for a great social cause.
