Turf Tank

Aaron Hobson, the associate director for the department of recreational sports at the University of Florida, has been a Turf Tank customer since March 2019. He shares his experience with the company and its product below:

Campus Rec: How were you introduced to Turf Tank?

Aaron Hobson: We learned about the product online and at the 2019 Sports Turf Managers Association Annual Conference. We decided to invest in the Turf Tank product because of its innovation and ability to revolutionize our industry.

CR: What are the benefits as a result of this partnership?

AH: We are able to significantly reduce operational costs, reallocate staff time toward differed maintenance, and ultimately optimize workflow.

CR: What are the benefits to your members?

AH: The Turf Tank produces consistent and accurate line-marking for our intramural and sport club programs. Our field maintenance staff is able to reallocate time invested in laying our fields toward additional field needs. It also allows our team the ability to accept more requests from special events.

CR: Have you been pleasantly surprised by working with Turf Tank in any way?

AH: We have been most pleased with the customer service the staff has provided us, including three days of on-campus training to set up, build field layouts and learn to use this piece of equipment. We even had a chance to recently meet the inventors and chief technology officer in person.

CR: What else can you tell other rec center professionals about Turf Tank?

AH: Seldom do we see a piece of equipment that will revolutionize our programs and services. Gone are the days of employees pulling strings, unwinding measuring tapes or remembering the Pythagorean Theorem. The Turf Tank truly is a game changer and will pay huge dividends for our department for years to come.
