In this Leadership Viewpoint, Katherine Burke, the director of Account Relationship Management at Fusion, explores how campus recreation teams are being asked to do more with less and the technology that can help departments navigate growing operational demands.

Burke discussed the increased pressure campus rec professionals face to justify budgets and demonstrate value through data. As financial scrutiny grows, she explains why many departments are prioritizing data-driven decision-making and developing dashboards that combine participation metrics with broader student success indicators to better tell their story.

She also shares insights into what campus recreation leaders are seeking from their software providers, emphasizing the importance of consolidating systems, simplifying reporting and creating a more connected technology ecosystem.
