Technogym Unveils First App to Inspire Movement and Fitness
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on LinkedIn

Technogym, a world leading company supplying products, services and solutions in wellness and fitness, launched the Technogym App, designed to motivate people to move more, become healthier and help convert this movement into meals for children in countries affected by malnutrition.

Specifically for the Milan EXPO 2015, Technogym will launch this new app and a special version of the “Let’s Move for a Better World” campaign  – the company’s incredibly popular annual global social campaign enabling users to donate their MOVEs (Technogym’s metric of measuring physical activity)to help combat childhood obesity.

Underpinning the EXPO’s theme this year – “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life” – Technogym will partner with the World Food Program for this campaign. The Technogym “Let’s Move for a Better World” campaign will enable anyone, anywhere in the world to download the new App and collect MOVEs through physical movement, and then convert these into actual meals. A total of 1,000 MOVEs is needed to purchase one meal, and global results will be tallied at the end of the EXPO on October 31, 2015 for the total meal donation.

The Technogym App enables users to live a “Wellness on the Go” lifestyle with recording and access of wellness and fitness data anywhere, at any time, including at the gym, at home, outdoors, at work and when travelling.  The Technogym App measures a person’s MOVERGY – one’s personal daily movement index. The app assigns users a daily movement target and the MOVERGY “clock hand” helps motivate users to reach goals, with the overall aim of taking them from SLOW to ACTIVE, and all the way to SPORTY.

The Technogym App also includes Wellness Cards that are filled with health tips, fitness programs and information on exercise, sports and health.  The Wellness Cards also incorporate a video-exercise gallery and tips on movement, nutrition and mental health.

With Technogym’s open platform MyWellness Cloud, that aggregates all fitness data in one place, the Technogym App also integrates information from indoor training on Technogym equipment, daily activities like walking, as well as outdoor training like running or cycling, directly through your smartphone’s GPS and accelerometer functions. The app can also be integrated with popular wearable devices and tracking apps, including Apple Health Kit and Apple Watch.

To download the new Technogym App, please visit the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
