Making a splash in your aquatics center is a must.

Whether it’s in programming, your trained staff or your equipment, things need to be moving and flowing efficiently at your pool location. They require constant attention, upkeep and the right tools. Having the right partners makes all the difference.

To meet the needs of their growing community, the University of North Carolina (UNC), reached out to Paddock Construction to build the competition and leisure/rec pools at their Greensboro campus. The project would feature many products from Pentair, including Stark Filters, Acu Drives, C-series pumps and IntelliBrite Lights. Pentair’s Water Division is headquartered in Sanford, North Carolina, just one hour southeast of the UNC project.

Joseph Sandy, the vice president of Paddock Construction, has partnered with Pentair for years on various projects. Recently, he shared why Paddock chooses to partner with companies like Pentair.

CR: What was your role in the UNC-Greensboro project?

JS: We were the pool contractor that built both pools. My personal role is vice president of Paddock Construction. I wear many hats with in our organization so I also helped project manage this project.

CR: Why was Pentair chosen as a partner?

JS: Paddock does a lot of business with Pentair. They were an approved equal in the specifications and seemed like a good fit for this project.

CR: What pieces of equipment did you use of Pentair’s?

JS: C-Series pumps, Whisperflo pumps, Aurora Pumps, Pentair Semi-Automatic filters.

CR: Why is the system beneficial for UNC-Greensboro?

JS: Pentair has a nice line of fiberglass filters. Plus, the automatic feature helps ensure the filters are always clean and functioning as they should

CR: Was there anything that pleasantly surprised you about working with them?

JS: Paddock and Pentair go way back. They have a very knowledgeable staff and stand behind their products. They partner well with companies like Paddock because we share in the same beliefs to provide a superior product and give superior service to our customers.
