The March/April 2024 issue of Campus Rec Magazine features Auburn University on its cover. Eric Smith came to Auburn in 2010 to start the Health Promotion and Wellness Services (HPWS) department. This area worked a lot with the nutritionist, prevention programs, peer health education, etc.
Then, when the previous executive director of Campus Recreation retired in 2022, the Division of Student Affairs reorganized to bring Campus Recreation and HPWS under one roof and name: Recreation and Wellness. Since then, Smith and the team at Auburn have been working on integrating the two departments into a seamless experience for students.
